Given the current secular context, a time described by Heidegger as "a destitute time", in which, in Hölderlin's view, the "united three" – Heracles, Dionysius and Christ – have left the world, how would it be to see God? How would that be represented? These questions can be asked of theists, atheists, agnostics, or deists. No matter what position is taken, everyone has a conception of God. It is from this conception that the imagination is summoned to represent it.

No actual contexto secular, um tempo em que, na perspectiva de Hölderlin, os "três unidos" – Héracles, Dionísio e Cristo – deixaram o mundo e que Heidegger chama "um tempo indigente", como seria ver Deus? Como é que isso seria representado? Estas são questões que podem ser colocadas a teístas, ateístas, agnósticos ou a deístas. Seja qual for a posição adoptada, todos têm uma concepção de Deus. É a partir dessa concepção que a imaginação é convocada para a representar.
